About the Artwork:
Press Play is a personal reflection on analogue technology and its physical limits. A cassette, a battery or a lost connection could bring an experience to an end, allowing space for the world beyond the device to return.
The work does not idealise the past, but remembers a more contained relationship with technology—one in which entertainment was temporary, tangible and chosen, rather than endlessly demanding our attention.
