About the Artwork:
The Distance Within reflects on the inner self: the private place from which hopes, dreams and future possibilities begin. It considers the distance between what we carry inside us and what has not yet appeared in the physical world.
As the viewer moves around the work, its two perspectives shift and coexist—suggesting that the reality we live today is often only one part of the reality we are still becoming.
Installation & Viewing:
This sculptural artwork is designed to be experienced at a considered eye-level height. When installed at its intended height, its distinct painted views are activated as the viewer moves around the piece.
